Dr. Laura Ferguson is originally from Syracuse, NY; although her education and medical training have brought her to many cities in the northeast, she now considers Philadelphia her home. She graduated from the University of Rochester in 2007 with a BS in Biomedical Engineering then an MS in Biomedical Engineering in 2009. Dr. Ferguson earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College in 2013.

Dr. Ferguson ventured as far south as Baltimore to complete her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland in 2016 then stayed on for an additional year as Chief Resident. Most recently, Dr. Ferguson completed fellowship in 2020 in Pulmonary/Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania here in Philadelphia. She then spent 3 years further specializing in treating patients with interstitial lung diseases while also engineering nano-scale drugs for such diseases, both at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Ferguson is thrilled to be working at Advocare Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists and looks forward to getting to know each one of her patients. In her spare time, she loves exploring the city of Philadelphia and beautiful surrounding parks with her husband, young daughter, and old dog.
