Dr. Neil Mushlin founded Advocare Pulmonary and Sleep Specialists in January 2018. After spending the previous 10 years doing both hospital and outpatient medicine he saw there was a strong need in the Philadelphia Suburban area for physicians who focused on outpatient pulmonary and sleep disorders.

He graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He was in a dual program for a Master's degree and Medical degree. He earned his Master's degree in Business Administration in Health and Medical Services Administration from Saint Joseph's University in 1999. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001.
Dr. Mushlin completed his traditional rotating Internship in the Crozer Keystone Health System and then went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood and his Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

He approaches medicine with a holistic practice philosophy and an open mind. He understands that every patient is unique in how their symptoms present and how they respond to treatment. He stresses open dialog and communication with every patient and will frequently call a patient's primary care physician or specialist to personally discuss their plans of care.

Due to his love of teaching, it is common to see residents and medical students in the office doing their clinical rotations with him. Dr. Mushlin has won teaching awards throughout his career and thinks it is important to help train the next generation of doctors. He is on staff at many of the local hospital systems and is an Associate Professor at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Mushlin grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and is thrilled to give back to the community. When he is not at the office he loves spending time with his family. He is an avid sports fan, and enjoys spending time at the shore during the summer.
